NHS Sight Testing
You are entitled to a FREE NHS sight test
if you are:
- Under 16
- 16,17,18 and in full-time education
- 60 or over
- Diabetic
- Diagnosed with glaucoma or have ocular hypertension and have been advised by an ophthalmologist you are at risk of glaucoma
- 40 or over and the parent, brother, sister or child of a person with glaucoma
- Prescribed complex lenses
- Registered blind or partially sighted
You are entitled to a free NHS sight test and help towards the cost of glasses
if you or your partner receive:
- Income support
- Income based Jobseekers Allowance
- Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
- Tax credit and are named on a valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate.
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Or you are:
- named on a valid HC2 certificate
- a prisoner on leave
